The LA Rams are no strangers to a busy offseason, and 2025 has been no exception.

The Rams re-signed quarterback Matthew Stafford before making the most of their cap space in free agency.

As well as re-signing a host of players, including TuTu Atwell, Alaric Jackson, and Akhello Witherspoon, the 2021 Super Bowl winners have acquired four new players in Free Agency to date.

Here is how they rank in importance to the Rams’ upcoming season.

#1 – Poona Ford – NT

The Rams signed Poona Ford to a three-year deal worth up to $29.6 million.

Ford will be of great importance to the Rams in 2025 due to his run-stopping ability – something the Rams lacked in 2024.

Saqoun Barkley rushed for 460 yards in two games against the Rams last season, including four runs of 60+ yards.

Ford ranked fifth among all interior defensive lineman in 2024, per PFF and ranked seventh against run for the LA Chargers last season.

#2 – Davante Adams – WR

The Rams signed Davante Adams to a two-year deal worth $44m, including $26m guaranteed.

Many would have expected Adams to be atop of this list but in terms of addressing needs, stopping the run was greater than finding a pass catcher.

For the past two seasons, the Rams have had both Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp as their starting receivers, but due to Kupp’s decline the Rams announced their intentions to move on from the 2021 Offensive Player of the Year.

And they wasted no time, signing Adams prior to Kupp’s release.

Adams has had 1,000-plus receiving yards in each of the past five seasons, a feat made even more impressive by the fact neither the New York Jets or Las Vegas Raiders achieved a winning record while Adams was on the team.

#3 – Nate Landman – LB

The Rams signed Nate Landman to a one-year deal.

In three seasons with the Atlanta Falcons, Landman played in 36 games with 23 starts. In 13 games last season, the inside linebacker had 81 tackles and three forced fumbles.

The Rams are light at linebacker following the departure of Christian Rozeboom, Jake Hummel and Troy Reeder to free agency.

Landman will likely start alongside 2024 undrafted rookie Omar Speights, unless the Rams draft a linebacker in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft.

#4 – Coleman Shelton – C

Last but not least, the LA Rams also signed Coleman Shelton to a two-year deal.

Shelton, who spent four years on the Rams before playing for the Chicago Bears last season, will likely compete for the starting centre spot with Beaux Limmer.

Shelton ranked third among centres for snaps played in 2024 with 1,121 snaps. Of those 1,121 snaps, Shelton allowed three sacks and drew four penalty flags.

Per PFF, Shelton ranked 19th among 64 centres with an overall grade of 66.4.
