Predicting the Ravens final 2025 roster – Part 2

Time for the rest of the roster!

The Ravens have one of the best rosters in the NFL, the key will be fine-tuning it in a packed AFC.

As discussed last week there are not many spare roster spots up for grabs.

But here is my prediction for who makes it through final cutdown day.

We ticked off the offense in Part 1, so let’s take a look at the defense – and special teams of course!

Defensive starpower limited by depth

Defensive Line: Broderick Washington, Nnamdi Maduibike, Travis Jones, John Jenkins, Aeneas Peebles

The defensive line could be the weakest starting group of the roster but there is depth behind Maduibike, allowing a strong rotation.

The hope is that Peebles can step up to take on regular starting snaps. Otherwise, it is likely to be an area of focus in the spring.

Outside Linebacker: Kyle Van Noy, Tavius Robinson, Odafe Oweh, Mike Green, David Ojabo – Adissa Isaac to join the 53 later in the season

Middle Linebacker: Roquan Smith, Trenton Simpson, Teddye Buchanan, Jake Hummel

One of the major decisions to make is the number of linebackers to carry, to enable an effective pass rushing rotation.

It certainly appeared to be a camp battle between Isaac and Ojabo for the fifth linebacker slot, but that appeared over with Bilhal Kone’s injury.

Now, Isaac is unlikely to start the season and will be added to the roster later on.

Cornerback: Marlon Humphrey, Jaire Alexander, Nate Wiggins, T.J. Tampa, Chidobe Owuzie, Jalyn Armour-Davis

The addition of Jaire Alexander gives Baltimore one of the best secondaries on the outside.

They have the depth here that they lack at safety.

However, several options – Alexander, Owuzie and Armour-Davis – have chequered injury histories.

Alexander’s arrival could also mean that one or two talented corners could lose out when the roster is trimmed to 53.

Will an undrafted rookie make the roster?

Free Safety: Kyle Hamilton, Reuben Lowery – Ar’Darius Washington to return later in 2025 and not included in the initial 53

Strong Safety: Malaki Starks, Sanoussi Kane

The Ravens have the best starting safety combination in the NFL.

However, particularly with the long-term injury of Ar’Darius Washington, there is very little depth there.

The Ravens may need to pick up a safety after cutdown day and drop a CB – Armour-Davis – or linebacker – Ojabo – to fit into the 53.

They could also look to move Humphrey or Awuzie to safety if needed.

Tucker is gone, will the Ravens miss a beat?

Kicker: Tyler Loop

Punter: Jordan Stout

Long Snapper: Nick Moore

Loop has won the kicking job and the opportunity to succeed Justin Tucker.

The question is, how long a leash is he given if any mistakes are made? Particularly if it is costing the Ravens in key early season matchups with the Buffalo Bills, Detroit Lions and Kansas City Chiefs.
