New York Jets season-long prop bets for 2025

Time to look at some Over/Unders.

With the start the NFL season just 62 days until the season opener, I wanted to take a slightly different look at my beloved New York Jets.

Specifically what does Vegas think of the Jets chances in 2025 and how do they think some of the star players will perform?

So let’s dive right into it.

New York Jets Total Wins – 5.5

After a bitterly disappointing 2024 season, which we do not need to relive, the Jets win total for 2025 currently stands at 5.5, with over 5.5 wins currently favoured in the majority of the markets.

I have to say a couple of months ago I would have been firmly looking at under 5.5 wins, but as Al Pacino once said: “Just when I thought I was out, they pulled me right back in!” So thank you Aaron Glenn.

I think six wins is very achievable looking at the schedule.

Home games vs Pittsburgh, Carolina, Cleveland, Atlanta & Miami provide ample opportunity for victories, while road games in Jacksonville & New Orleans should not hold any fear.

Just winning those games – easier said than done – would provide seven wins. But this is the Jets so they will probably lose those match-ups, but go on some sort of crazy run and beat Tampa Bay, Baltimore and Buffalo on the road.

But either way, I would be liking the Jets chances of covering the over in 2025.

Justin Fields Passing Touchdowns – 14.5

Now this is an interesting line, Fields threw five touchdowns in six starts for the Steelers in 2024, before being benched for Russell Wilson.

His last two seasons in Chicago, 2023 and 2022, yielded 16 & 17 touchdown passes respectively, so the line of 14.5 is not insurmountable by any stretch when you look at his past performances.

However, we have not seen the Ohio State product play a full season of NFL football yet. He is also in a team that lacks top passing options outside of Garrett Wilson.

But if reports are to be believed the Jets really think Fields is ready to make the leap. If he can play a full 17 game slate, then just one touchdown pass a game would see him beat this line.

Take the over, but it could be very close.

Garrett Wilson Receiving Yards – 925.5

No Jets bias here, Wilson is one of the most talented receivers in the NFL.

He has had Zach Wilson as his quarterback for two of his three NFL seasons and has still managed to rack up three consecutive 1000+ receiving yard seasons.

Want to know some of the other players who have done that? Randy Moss, Odell Beckham Jnr, Mike Evans, Ja’Marr Chase, Justin Jefferson and John Jefferson – no relation as far as I’m aware.

That is it. That is the list in over 100 years of the NFL.

He is the prime target in New York, he has a great connection with Fields from their college days and the Jets will want to get the ball in his hands as much as possible.

He will need to average just 55 yards a game to break the 926 mark. This is a no brainer, over.

I know, I know there is a theme developing here. But the Jets always win the off season and until that first game starts I will be pretty confident the Jets can outperform the expectations set for them in 2025.
