New York Giants bold predictions for 2025 NFL season

It was a thoroughly enjoyable preseason.

Hope, optimism and identity have returned to 1925 Giants Drive in East Rutherford!

Before we get to weekly previews and reviews, how about some bold predictions for the 2025 season?

Let us know your thoughts over on @JoinTheHuddleUK.

Pass rush

On paper, this is the most exciting unit on the team and, to be honest, one of the most potentially exciting units in the entire NFL.

I predict that the Giants will have three pass rushers with 10 or more sacks this season. With the talent on this team, this hardly feels like a bold prediction, more the general expectation.

That is despite the fact that it is is a feat not achieved since the Buffalo Bills did it in 2014: Mario Williams – 14.5 sacks, Marcell Dareus – 10 sacks, Jerry Hughes – 10 sacks.

Pro Bowl

This is a young and improving team that is going to start to earn respect around the league. Even if they fall short of the playoffs, they can continue to establish themselves.

With that being said, I predict that at least four players will make the Pro Bowl this season. The Giants last had four Pro Bowlers back in the 2016 season with Odell Beckham Jr. (WR), Landon Collins (S), Janoris Jenkins (CB) and Dwayne Harris (ST).

I predict that Malik Nabers (WR) and Dexter Lawrence (DT) make it. The league-wide buzz around Abdul Carter (Edge) will earn him so many fan votes that he will become a rookie Pro Bowler.

Lastly, I have Dru Phillips (DB). I think had an exceptional rookie season, great coverage and tackling – including seven tackles for loss – and can establish himself as a top-five slot corner in the NFL this year.

He might need to get a Pick-Six or two to get the league-wide recognition to make the Pro Bowl, but I believe ability-wise, he may deserve it.

Sweep the Cowboys

Dak Prescott has 12 consecutive wins over the New York Giants as quarterback of the Cowboys. Dallas are 16 and 4 in the last 20 against the Giants.

That all changes this year, though, with a depleted pass rush missing DeMarcus Lawrence and Micah Parsons no longer there to totally derail the Giants offense.

I think the Giants will sweep the Cowboys – which has not happened since 2013 – and I even predict the Giants finish above them in the NFC East this season.

To me, the Cowboys are very similar to Manchester United in the Premier League. They are a team with a massive fan base, living off a reputation from years ago. They are just not a great side.

If you put the United squad into Burnley, nobody would be overly high on the team’s chances this season. I think this would be the same if this Cowboys roster was put into Cleveland.

Let me know what your bold predictions are for the upcoming season and we can reflect on this article once the season is over and see how we all did.
