The Rams are looking to build on their 2024 play-off campaign.

As they head into 2025, several positions are up for grabs on the depth chart.

Of course, the likes of Matthew Stafford, Puka Nacua and Jared Verse all have their positions nailed down. But there are others who will be vying for the top spot in their position.

Rams Head Coach Sean McVay could have a positional headache on his hands with competition for places at a premium.

Tight end: Tyler Higbee vs. Terrance Ferguson vs. Colby Parkinson

Tyler Higbee has been the Rams’ starting tight end for the past eight seasons, but the 2016 draft pick was coming off a bad ACL injury in 2024 and only played three regular-season games.

Despite this, Higbee had his best postseason to date for the Rams with 12 catches for 112 yards and a TD.

In Higbee’s absence last season, the Rams used former Seattle Seahawks TE Colby Parkinson. Parkinson caught 30 passes for 294 yards and one score.

Add into the mix Rams rookie Terrance Ferguson. LA drafted the 22-year-old from Oregon in the second round of the 2025 NFL draft.

Ferguson had 43 catches for 591 yards and three touchdowns during the 2024 season for Oregon.

Inside linebacker: Troy Reeder vs. Nate Landman vs. Chris Paul Jr.

It has been a talking point among Rams fans for the past few seasons, yet one the front office continues to ignore. The Rams’ one missing piece continues to be at ILB.

Since the departures of Bobby Wagner and Ernest Jones, LA have looked weaker in the department. This was proven by Saqoun Barkley’s 460 yards and four touchdowns against McVay’s side last year. That ultimately ended their season in the playoffs.

2024 undrafted free agent Omar Speights has probably done enough to play his way into a starting role. But it is anyone’s guess who plays alongside him.

To every Rams fans’ frustration, Troy Reeder continues to find his way back onto the roster.

Reeder spent three years on the Rams before joining the Chargers for a season. But then he returned to the Rams where he has played the last two seasons.

Reeder got injured early in the 2024 season and the Rams played their best football defensively with Reeder on the sidelines.

Another option is Nate Landman. The Rams signed the former Atlanta Falcons linebacker as a free agent this offseason.

Known as a run-stopping linebacker, Landman spent the first three years of his NFL career in Atlanta racking up 192 tackles, seven TFL and six forced fumbles.

The Rams also drafted linebacker Chris Paul Jr. in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Paul had 86 tackles, 3.5 sacks, 11 TFL and an interception in 2024 for Arkansas.
