Carter is back in hot water after the latest controversy.
It was meant to be a joyous night for Eagles fans as they observed their beloved franchise raising the ‘2024 World Champions’ banner in front of their NFC East arch-rivals, the Dallas Cowboys.
However, things took a sour turn before a single snap had taken place.
Despite being one of the most feared defensive tackles in the entire NFL, time after time, Jalen Carter discovers a new way to become public enemy number one and jeopardise his team’s chances of being successful.
His latest embarrassing stunt has landed him in hot water once again.
Carter spits on Prescott
Many acts in the sporting world are severely frowned upon; however, spitting on an opponent – no matter what the circumstance – is unforgivable.
Without a single snap taking place, the 24-year-old marched over to the Cowboys’ huddle and at first glance appeared to spit at Prescott for no obvious reason except an extreme lack of discipline.
Thanks to video playback, fans had the opportunity to see Dallas’ star man exchange a few choice words with Carter and formulate some of his own saliva in his mouth.
Yes, this is all it took for a grown man, who has graduated from college, who picks up a mouth-watering pay cheque, who is over the age of five, to respond by physically spitting at his opponent.
Carter is one of the most talented defensive linemen in the NFL with the world at his feet, but the inability to contain his emotions in crucial moments is beginning to shatter his reputation and hinder his colleagues’ ability to perform at an elite level.
Not his first act of ill-discipline
Misdemeanours are now becoming a common theme in the Georgia graduates’ performances, something that the general manager, Howie Roseman, will undoubtedly consider as he looks to extend the Eagles’ championship window in the future.
Last season alone, Carter was penalised for three separate acts of unnecessary roughness due to not being able to control his aggression once the snap had come to a close.
During one of the most important games in Philadelphia’s recent history, the NFC Championship game against the Washington Commanders, again, Fangio’s main man took it upon himself to slap Tyler Biadesz in the face like he was competing in Dana White’s Power Slap League – a ridiculous sport in itself, but wildly entertaining.
At some point, decisions have to be made. This is far from a one-off event in which all parties can forgive and forget. Carter must mature quickly before the organisation completely loses trust in him.
It cannot be debated that if it was not for this young man’s extraordinary talents, he would have faced the unforgiving wrath of Roseman and would be searching for a new franchise to represent.
