Jaguars face tough start to 2025

London’s calling, where the Jags will take on the Rams.

After the numerous leaks of the NFL schedule release, it is finally confirmed. The Jacksonville Jaguars will host the Los Angeles Rams at Wembley Stadium in Week 7.

Of the games the Jags could have hosted, this to me has to be one of the best outcomes.

Expect the stars to shine

We get to see the rebuilt Jaguars, complete with the formidable wide receiver duo of Travis Hunter and Brian Thomas Jr. Plus, quarterback Trevor Lawrence will be seeking retribution after being sidelined partway through the 2024 season.

With Matthew Stafford and Puka Nacua on the other side of the field, we could be in for a scintillating matchup. It will certainly be a statement win if the Jaguars prevail.

The game will also see Head Coach Liam Coen face off against his former team. Storylines such as this always add a little bit more excitement to a game. I already cannot wait to step into Wembley come Sunday 19 October.

But first, some tricky games

However, before then, the Jags have to navigate a tough start to the new season and will need to come out of the gates strongly. That will give them confidence in the new style of fast football that Coen wants to play.

The schedule kicks off with the Carolina Panthers. If Jacksonville lose this one, I may have to reconsider the team’s playoff potential.

After that, they face the Cincinnati Bengals, AFC South rivals Houston Texans, and a couple of regular Super Bowl participants in the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs. It is not exactly a gentle introduction to the season!

My predictions for 2025 will be shared in the next couple of weeks. Ever the optimist, I think this could be the Jags’ year. And that would be quite an achievement for the young backroom staff in Jacksonville.
