Madden 26 beta ratings are out and Eagles fans are not going to be happy.

After defeating the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX, Eagles fans could have rightly assumed their team would be close to unstoppable when Madden 26 is finally released.

But in fact, the situation is quite the contrary!

How low is low?

Despite clinching the NFC East and finishing the 2025-26 campaign with 14 wins, Philadelphia has been rewarded with an 87 overall rating.

That is one less than the Dallas Cowboys, who scraped together just seven wins in an underwhelming season.

The Cowboys are not the only franchise graciously handed a complimentary grading. The San Francisco 49ers – who finished rock bottom of the NFC West with six wins – have a 92 overall rating.

Super Bowl LIX runners-up Kansas City are also rated 92 overall. That is less surprising due to the 15 wins they chalked up during the previous campaign.

After evaluating the full list from the Madden 26 beta, the question remains: What must Philadelphia do to gain credibility in the NFL?

Are wholesale changes the cause for the Eagles’ rating?

Defensive co-ordinator Vic Fangio established one of the most resilient defences in the league last year. Under him, the Eagles’ opponents were limited to 17.8 points per game.

However, extensive changes – including veteran presences such as Darius Slay and C.J. Gardner Johnson – could affect performances on that side of the ball for some time.

But it is not just about the defensive transition. Super Bowl MVP Jalen Hurts finds himself with a third different offensive coordinator in as many years.

With Kellen Moore accepting the head coach role at New Orleans, Kevin Patullo has been trusted to build upon the foundations laid by his predecessor.

Of course, this is just a video game and these factors are not always built into the formulae. Also, these ratings could change, as Madden 26 is only in the beta stage of development.

Nevertheless, such a low rating suggests that many analysts do not expect Philly to attain back-to-back championships.
