A mouthwatering Monday Night Football match-up.

The Baltimore Ravens are 1-1 and that encapsulates the two sides we have seen of them thus far in 2025.

A dominant performance in Buffalo against the Bills was let down by going soft in the fourth quarter.

Baltimore then recovered with an unspectacular win over the Cleveland Browns in their home opener.

While they scored 40 points, it was padded by scoring twice off short fields and a fumble recovery return for a touchdown.

Now comes another big test, with a big game against the Detroit Lions.

One of these Super Bowl hopefuls will end the game 1-2.

Ravens struggling to hit form

No team can start a season in midseason form. In fact there is an argument to avoid it and prevent peaking early.

But regardless, the Ravens have started slower than expected.

In fairness, they ran the ball well against the Bills to put up 40 points.

Plus the Browns have been the most effective defense through two weeks of the season, per PFF.

On that basis, the Ravens have had a tough brief through the first two weeks. But Baltimore has made heavy weather of the opening to their season.

They have been sloppy with time management and fumbled in key situations – Tylan Wallace rescuing a Derrick Henry fumble in Week 2.

It was a strong team performance for the first 50 minutes in Buffalo, but the Ravens were stuck in second gear against Cleveland.

With the Lions coming off a 52-21 win over the Chicago Bears, Baltimore can not afford to take a play off or miss an assignment.

The risk if the Ravens do not play to their potential is a Week 4 match-up in Kansas City, who themselves are trying to climb out of a hole.

With Buffalo already two and half games ahead of the Ravens, this is already a pivotal 10 days in the Ravens’ season.
