Can the Raiders build momentum with a statement win?

The Las Vegas Raiders finally got back in the win column against the Tennessee Titans.

After watching more than one quarter without wanting to tear my eyeballs out, I have finally some opinions to share.

Getting better or worse opposition?

After four straight losses, the Las Vegas Raiders finally broke the streak with a 20–10 win over the struggling Tennessee Titans.

It was not perfect, but it was a step in the right direction — and maybe, just maybe, a spark.

Geno Smith threw for 174 yards, a touchdown, and his signature one interception. It is becoming his trademark at this point.

Tre Tucker and Michael Mayer both looked sharp when they had time to make plays — which, to be fair, is not often behind this offensive line.

Ashton Jeanty continues to impress too, running like he is still in college form and hitting holes with real power.

But the real story of the day? The defense. Devin White and Maxx Crosby absolutely dominated, combining for three sacks and an interception.

The secondary also deserves credit. They are not perfect, but each week they are starting to look more confident and more comfortable in coverage.

Looking ahead to Week 7

So, can the Raiders carry this confidence into Kansas City? Or will the same old inconsistency creep back in?

The big question is whether Geno Smith will actually have time to go through his reads and find open receivers.

If the line gives him even a few seconds longer, this offense could start to click.

Then comes the real challenge — stopping the Chiefs.

Patrick Mahomes is getting Rashee Rice back, and that could open everything up again for their offense.

Kansas City’s O-line also looks like it is returning to full strength, so Crosby and the front seven are going to have their hands full.

Even when you do pressure Mahomes, actually getting him down is another story.

Make or break

This game feels like a turning point. If the Raiders can put in a statement performance, it could change the whole tone of the season.

But if the offensive line keeps leaking pressure, then all the coaching tweaks in the world will not save it.

At some point, either trades need to happen or we write this year off as another “building” season.

Still, there is reason for hope. The young secondary is growing fast, the defense is starting to find its bite, and Geno — for all his chaos — keeps this team dangerous.

Now it is time to see if the Raiders can take a good week and turn it into something real.
