An end of season letter to Buffalo Bills hopefuls

Dear Buffalo Bills fans, there is reason for hope

I have taken a beat before sitting down to write this to you – my esteemed peers and fellow Bills Mafia.

I wanted to allow time for everyone to process the result of last Sunday.

The sight of Josh Allen, sat on the sideline staring into nothingness as the Kansas City Chiefs kneeled out their victory – it is a sight we have seen before, yet this time, it hurt more.

Let us not dwell on refereeing decisions, ‘4th and 1’s or dropped passes – we are better than that.

After all, we have done this before.

Supercharged Re-Bill’ed

Last offseason the Bills parted ways with some key contributors.

Jordan Poyer and Micah Hyde departed – though Micah did come back to be a locker room guy!

We also traded away Stefon Diggs and allowed Gabriel Davis to walk in free agency to inevitably become irrelevant in Jacksonville. The league had written the Bills off.

“The Buffalo Bills window has slammed shut.”

We were in rebuild mode and should expect the ‘All in’ New York Jets to win the division and the Bills settle for developing the younger players on the roster.

Wrong.

So long as Josh Allen is playing this brand of football, the Bills window will never be closed. He gives the Bills a chance every game he plays and he gives management a reason to pursue talent for each season he is in this mood.

Divisional Opponents

I will keep it short so as to not throw shade at my respected rivals.

The Miami Dolphins seem to be in mini-meltdown with Tyreek Hill lining up an offseason full of drama.

The New England Patriots seem to have found their quarterback in Drake Maye and Mike Vrabel is a much more competent and stable head coach – expect better from them, but will they be challenging?

And the New York Jets. They went for it and came up so incredibly short. They are not devoid of talent and I am a big fan of the Aaron Glenn hire – but do they have their sights on a division title next season? Perhaps too soon.

Is a sixth division title in a row on the cards for the Bills?

Sidenote: Our 2025 schedule of opponents has been released – but no spoilers – I will be covering that in a future article!

My message to all Bills fans is this

We endured a barren time for so long. So much bad football.

Do not despair over missed opportunities for glory. Appreciate the success we had and know we are in save hands who are striving for more.

The future is bright both on the roster and in the division.

So I will see you this time next season, where hopefully I will be writing about our chances in Super Bowl LX.
