The bye week is always a good time to take stock and evaluate where your franchise truly stands.
My result this time? The NFL should be bracing itself for a Seattle Seahawks Super Bowl run in the 2026 season.
Things are looking rosy in Seattle at the moment, with a talented young roster being led well by Mike Macdonald.
The Seahawks look a good bet to make the playoffs this season, but the best may be yet to come.
With just a few improvements, the Seahawks could be looking at a Super Bowl run next year.
Retaining talent
Seattle’s 2022 draft was excellent, finding starters all over the field. However, they now need paying.
Tackles Abe Lucas and Charles Cross are now under contract for next season, but doubt remains elsewhere.
Extending key pieces like Kenneth Walker III, Riq Woolen and Coby Bryant will be a tall order, but it is necessary.
If they can also keep Josh Jobe, Drake Thomas and Josh Jones, the depth they provide would set the Seahawks up for success as soon as next season.
Familiarity
The work Sam Darnold and Klint Kubiak are doing in their first season in Seattle is incredible.
With another year of familiarity with the weapons at their disposal, the Seahawks’ offense should step forward again next year.
Cutting out the costly trick play attempts would be a good start. The second-half run game also needs to find consistency to help close out victories.
If they can do these, the defense can lift this team all the way to glory next season.
One more draft
Since 2022, Seattle GM John Schneider has been on a drafting hot streak. One more could be enough to bring a Seahawks Super Bowl run.
Schneider’s selection of Grey Zabel this year has massively boosted the offensive line.
Another high pick on a starting-calibre right guard next year could be the missing piece this offense needs.
Seattle also needs an injection of pace and energy at linebacker beside Ernest Jones. The Seahawks should target Arvell Reese or, more likely, Sonny Styles of Ohio State.

Sonny Styles has skyrocketed into 1st round territory with a monster 2025 season
Took his missed tackle rate from 18% last year to 0% so far this year in addition to increasing his coverage IQ

Otherwise, the aim should be to build on the already-impressive depth on the roster.
And that is it. A few new contracts and a couple of good selections in April’s draft.
Then Seahawks fans can start dreaming of Super Bowl LXI in LA.
