Week 8 – Do not be tight when spending on Tight End!
Week 7 was perhaps our most varied output yet.
We struck gold with Quinshon Judkins as our captain – 52.8pts is a massive effort, helped of course by his three touchdowns against Miami.
In trying to read the tea leaves on Josh Jacobs, I plumped for Emanuel Wilson as a cheaper option on the slate, but Jacobs was very much able to gut it out for his team – leaving Wilson with only 2.5pts for his afternoon of work.
Two of our old faithfuls who continue to yield lineup worthy points were Jonathan Taylor (RB3 – 34.2pts) and Jake Ferguson (TE4 – 21.9pts).
Surrounding those players however were a bunch of misses – and that is why this lineup did not hit the heights we hoped for.
Luke McCaffrey did not create our reasonably priced stack with Jayden Daniels. That game was a shootout (44-22 in favour of Dallas), so we got one thing right, just not for fantasy sadly.
Looking ahead to Week 8 – we see some big name players on bye week with the likes of the Los Angeles Rams and Jacksonville Jaguars having their break following their London match-up.
Also – Happy National Tight End Day folks. I expect to see some representation in the end zone by our tall friends this week.
In 2024 we saw 16 touchdowns scored by tight ends and 177 receptions.
The average for any given week is roughly ~150 receptions and 8-10 touchdowns, so let us squeeze those tight ends with favourable match-ups into our lineups and hope for a similar joy as last year.
Quarterbacks
The highest projected scoring game on the slate this week is, yet again, involving the Dallas Cowboys.
It should come as no surprise, they have featured heavily in prior articles and they have allowed the most points to quarterbacks so far through the season.
Enter Bo Nix (£8000). He is not cheap by any stretch of the imagination and he hass not exactly been on fire this season either. That was until last week, where he posted 39.96 fantasy points and was QB1 on the week by a margin of 10 points!
I do not expect him to post that statline this week – but I do expect Dallas can move the ball on this Broncos defense, which has not been as potent as it was in 2024.
Talking of impressive quarterbacks from last week – how about Jaxson Dart (£6200)?
He has back-to-back weeks of 23 fantasy points or more and faces a Philadelphia Eagles defense that only two weeks ago allowed him to post 23.6pts.
He is always a threat scrambling from the pocket for those extra yards that fantasy owners love and I think he is too cheap to ignore.

Cheaper Options
Another segue? Surely not. Well, talking of comebacks – how about dialling up Joe Flacco (£5800) this week?
He hosts a New York Jets team that is 0-7 to start the season and have just lost star cornerback Sauce Gardner for the week. Who is in line to track Tee Higgins and Ja’Marr Chase? Maybe Brandon Stephens? That is not good news for the Jets – but will be good news for fantasy owners of Chase and Higgins.
I do not expect Flacco to have to do a massive amount – we should not be expecting a shootout here, no matter how bad the Bengals defense happens to be, they are not coming up against a cohesive Jets offense.
I do see a route to Flacco posting upwards of 20 points this week – that is good value at his price point and allows you to stack with his receivers if you like.
Running Backs
I am going to say this now: Putting Jonathan Taylor (£9200) in your lineup will probably yield you massive points this week. He faces the Tennessee Titans, who do not need over analysing – they are not good.
Use Taylor at your peril however, as he is priced accordingly and will spend your budget quicker than you can say: “Another Colts Touchdown.”
If you need a dose of how impressive the Indianapolis Colts have been to start the season – check out this weeks episode of the HuddleUK podcast!
If I was to spend up big at the position this week, my pick would be Bijan Robinson (£9000) who faces a Miami Dolphins defense that has provided opposing running backs with the fourth-most fantasy points this season.
I am expecting Robinson to bounce back after a very average Atlanta Falcons performance against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 7.
Backing Buffalo? Following the Bills’ bye week, I expect them to assert their dominance against the Carolina Panthers. How? Through the run game of course. Something they established well through the first four weeks in their wins, but not in their subsequent two defeats.
When the Bills do that, James Cook (£7000) typically finds the end zone, and fantasy points follow to boot.
Cheaper Options
Elsewhere Rachaad White (£4800) faces a nice match-up against the New Orleans Saints. The Buccaneers receiver corps is still a bit banged up, so I like White to get back into the high-teens of fantasy points this week after a down week playing from behind against Detroit.
Rookie Kyle Monangai (£2400) saw 13 touches in the Chicago backfield in Week 7. That volume – and reaching the end zone – is something to monitor. He is worth a flier at that price point and faces a leaky Baltimore Ravens run defense.
Dare we try going back to Woody Marks (£3800) again? He burnt us once before with a dud. After 10 carries and five targets in Week 7, he has opportunity again. Can he capitalise though?
C.J. Stroud does not have Nico Collins to pass to, so I imagine Marks could be busy this week against a middling 49ers run defense.
Wide Receiver
Depending on which direction you go in at quarterback – there are a few stackable receivers to aim for.
Ja’Marr Chase (£8200) being £1000 cheaper than the most expensive running back seems very good. He will not have Sauce Gardner in coverage as already mentioned – oh, and he has 35 targets in two games with Joe Flacco.
Flacco does not care. Screw it. Ja’Marr is down there somewhere.
Not stacking the Bengals game? Okay then.
If you want to stack the Dallas vs Denver – highest scorer on the projections slate – then look no further: But, CeeDee Lamb (£7200) or George Pickens (£7000)?
I expect Pickens to line-up on the outside as the X-receiver and therefore face Patrick Surtain II in coverage the most.
CeeDee Lamb moves around more and plays out of the slot about 32% of the time. That leads me to believe Riley Moss will be in coverage a lot more with Lamb.
Neither of the above are particularly enticing options – but if I had to take one, I am going with Lamb vs Moss over Pickens vs Surtain.
On the other side of the ball, there is Courtland Sutton (£5800) and Troy Franklin (£3200) facing off against the porous Dallas defense. Using one or both of them stacked with Bo Nix could be a winning formula this week.
Dallas’ cornerback Trevon Diggs has landed on injured reserve and so the WR2 in this offense should see a boost because of that.
Devonta Smith (£5800) had a massive week 7 against Minnesota – scoring 33.3 points off 11 targets. He is set to be WR1 in the Philly offense with A.J. Brown out this week and facing a Giants defense that just allowed the Broncos to put up 33 pts in the fourth quarter of Week 7.
Cheaper Options
On the other side of that game Wan’Dale Robinson (£4600) has 19 targets through the last 2 weeks and 35.9 fantasy points. At that price point, I fancy him to hit the 15+ points we want from him (three times his value).
If you’re looking for cheap options the rise of Tez Johnson (£2200) over the last few weeks has been a positive thing for Buccaneer fans. Nine targets last week and back-to-back touchdowns has means he has now been productive for three weeks.
Allen Lazard or Tyler Johnson (both £2200) might be the number one receiver for the New York Jets this week against the Cincinnati Bengals. I know, I know – who cares right? The Jets offense is disgusting, sorry Jets fans!. I don’t blame you for not wanting a slice of this pie.
Or Chimere Dike (£2200)? Scraping the barrel, but Dike had a mini-breakout last week with his first ever touchdown. I expect the Titans to be playing from behind a lot on Sunday, so points could come his way.

Tight End
Okay, here is where the fun can be had. I am expecting – or hoping/praying/begging? – for a big Tight End day seeing as it is their National Day.
This is not the week to ignore Jake Ferguson (£4600). He has done nothing but support our daily fantasy lineups and has scored at least one touchdown in each of the last four weeks.
If Lamb and Pickens are heavily covered, I expect Prescott to look for Ferguson – something he has done at least seven times in three of the last four weeks.
Ferguson is second in TE red zone targets (11) this season, behind only Trey McBride – who is on bye week.
George Kittle (£4200) is the founding member of National Tight End day from his performance in 2018 – he is back from injury and the Niners could do with his receiving ability. I expect him to find the end zone in this matchup.
This Sunday is National Tight End Day.
Last year on that day…
Cade Otton – 9/81/2 – 24.6 points
Kyle Pitts – 4/91/2 – 23.1
George Kittle – 6/128/1 – 21.8
Travis Kelce – 10/90/1 – 20.0
Trey McBride – 9/124/0 – 16.9
Adam Trautman – 4/85/1 – 16.5
David Njoku – 5/61/1 – 14.6 pic.twitter.com/h1MeKRgRV0— Underdog (@Underdog) October 24, 2025
How about Dallas Goedert (£4200), who should benefit as the top red zone threat for Jalen Hurts now that AJ Brown is out. He has five touchdowns in his last five outings but missed out last week … so he could be due?
Cheaper Options
Dalton Schultz (£2800) had nine catches off 10 targets in Week 7 for the Houston Texans against a tough Seahawks defense. He now gets the 49ers defense that is desperately missing Fred Warner – they just allowed Kyle Pitts to make seven catches for 62 yards (13.2pts).
Cade Otton (£2600) may actually be Baker Mayfield’s number one short yardage option. He is averaging double-digit fantasy points through the last three weeks but is yet to score a touchdown – when better than today, eh?
Mason Taylor (£2800) is a little banged up with a quad injury – but like the other Jets receivers, he has a clear route to volume in this game and has proven to be popular in weeks prior. If the Jets are to get moving at all, I expect he will be the focal point.
Finally, Noah Fant (£2400) is benefitting from Mike Gesicki being on IR. The Bengals Tight End found the end zone last week and caught all four targets.
My Sunday Stars Lineup
We are leaving cash on the board with this line-up – but I like the potential upside of these players.
Captain – Bijan Robinson (£9000)
QB – Bo Nix (£8000)
RB – James Cook (£7000)
RB – Kyle Monangai (£2400)
WR – Troy Franklin (£3200)
WR – Chimere Dike (£2200)
FLEX – Dalton Schultz (£2800)
TE – Jake Ferguson (£4600)
Best of luck for Week 8 – and happy Tight End day one and all!
