Jacksonville Jaguars beaten 20-12 by Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.
Well, the victory on Monday Night Football was sadly short lived.
After a comprehensive display against the Kansas City Chiefs resulting in an evening to remember and personally, a few very joyous days looking at highlights, the Jacksonville Jaguars have been brought back down to Earth by the Seattle Seahawks.
Let us take a look at the main reasons for this loss which was not on my bingo card.
What went wrong?
Little has a week to forget
First and foremost, I want to address the obvious. What has happened to Cam Little?
From someone who was kicking 70-yard pre-season field goals for fun, missing an extra point and a very achievable field goal is a cause for concern.
I am not sure what he had for breakfast this morning, but this has to be a blip otherwise we are in deep trouble. Will a visit to London get Little back to winning ways or will less familiar surroundings play a role in more errors?
Pre-snap penalties
I do not know how many times I am going to have to state this. Clearly more than I thought.
I understand the offense needs time to settle into the new playbook but these are rookie errors.
Illegal shifts, false starts, and ineligible men downfield are detrimental to us winning any game, not just this one. We need to iron out these mistakes fast.
Lawrence’s indecision
I have been holding off on this criticism.
It is great that Lawrence is going through his motions and taking his time in a pocket. However, seven sacks for big losses cannot happen.
Not all of these are Lawrence’s fault but, if he sees pressure, he needs to get the ball out of his hands and not take a 10-yard loss.
London bound for Week 7
The Jags now travel for their regular London game featuring the Los Angeles Rams.
We need to fix the above to stop the wheels from falling off on a very promising start to a season.
I will be there in person and want to see a competent football team, not what I witnessed today.
