Preseason could not have gone any better for the Giants.
Big Blue put up up 30+ points and won all three preseason games this August.
The 2025 draft class looks very exciting, and apart from special teams player Bryce Ford-Wheaton, none of our starters have picked up injuries that will result in them missing Week 1.
I will save my uncontrollable excitement for how good Jaxson Dart looks for another time – stay tuned!
But for now…
Roster Projections
For the first time in a long time, there are difficult decisions to be made to trim our roster down to 53 players.
Some players that we cut will get claimed from other teams. In recent years they have either made our practice squad or never to be seen or heard from again in the NFL.
I do believe there will be a couple of players waived or traded between the initial 53 announced and the Week 1 starters.
However predicting the initial 53-man roster is hard enough. Here is my prediction.
Offense

Russel Wilson, Jaxson Dart, Jamies Winston

Tight End (3)
Theo Johnson, Chris Manhertz, Thomas Fidone II
Offensive Line (10)
Andrew Thomas, Jon Runyan, John Michael Schmitz Jr, Greg van Roten, Jermaine Elumanor, Marcus Mbow, James Hudson III, Evan Neal, Aaron Stinnie, Josh Ezudu
Defense
Defensive Line (5)
Dexter Lawrence III, Roy Robertson-Harris, Rakeem Nuñez-Roches Sr, Darius Alexander, Elijah Chatman
Edge/Outside Linebacker (4)

Inside Linebacker (4)
Bobby Okereke, Micah McFadden, Darius Mussau, Chris Board
Cornerback (6)
Paulson Adebo, Deonte Banks, Cor’Dale Flott, Dru Phillips, Tre Hawkins III, Korie Black
Safety (4)
Jevon Holland, Tyler Nubin, Dane Belton, K’Von Wallace
Special Teams (3)
Graham Gano, Jamie Gillan, Casey Kreiter
Noticeable Cuts
Tight end Daniel Bellinger misses out in this projection.
He has just never seemed the same since his eye injury at the tail end of his rookie year. He appears to have been included less and less in recent years and I think the coaches will prefer Fidone’s upside.
Quarterback Tommy DeVito is another. Maybe not a surprise cut as such, but a painful one.
This kid balled out in preseason and is absolutely worth a place on an NFL roster as a back-up.
I believe that due to Winston having a two-year contract, he will stay on this roster as opposed to Tommy, but it will hurt to end this feel good story as there is just no way he will clear waivers an make our practice squad
And for a passing offense that was not great in recent years, I surprisingly have all six wide receivers who have previously played for the Giants included.
I do not think Beaux Collins, Dalen Cambre or Montrell Washington did enough to make the official roster, but I would expect two players from this position group to get claimed onto the practice squad
