‘Gang Green’ have the ninth pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
The NFL combine is complete and that means the draft is nearly upon us.
As a long suffering New York Jets fan this time of year is usually our Super Bowl – but I live in hope that 2025 will be different.
I have looked at four prospects who the Jets may look to snag in the first round.
Cam Ward
The Miami quarterback is widely regarded as the best passer available in this years draft.
If the Jets want him they would likely have to trade up to the number one pick with the Tennessee Titans.
Would new general manager Darren Mougey be willing to take such a risk in his first draft?
Ward would certainly excite the fan base with his explosive play making, but the move from pick seven may prove to be too big a hurdle.
Mason Graham
The Michigan defensive tackle skipped most of the combine workouts last week, but his tape from college will speak for itself.
The Philadelphia Eagles have shown the way forward in the draft in recent years by building up the trenches.
I would not be shocked to see Graham lining up alongside Quinnen Williams on the defensive line come the regular season.
Tyler Warren
It is no secret that outside of Garrett Wilson the Jets lack pass catching weapons.
While free agency is stacked with talent, in the draft attention may turn to Tyler Warren.
The Penn State tight end had an outstanding season, with over 1,000 receiving yards, 200 rushing yards and 12 total touchdowns.
We saw the impact Brock Bowers had last season, could Warren make a similar impact in the Big Apple?
Sheduer Sanders
Once thought of as the top quarterback prospect in the class, there are now rumours that the Colorado star could fall out of the top five picks.
If he does get passed over early, could the Jets make a trade up and snag a potential franchise quarterback?
There are some concerns around aspects of his play, but he has talent and should he fall.
Aaron Glenn may give him the first half of the season to watch and learn behind a veteran presence like Tyrod Taylor.
Ideal Selection – Cam Ward
Realistic Pick – Mason Graham or Tyler Warren
